There a relationship: between landscape, worship space and liturgy. The author illustrates the theme with more than 2200 photos and drawings. We are part of God's creation, and our journey on earth is highlighted in our rites of life passage. The place of the church building in the landscape tells about »our being in the world» The author writes, “We are not in a vacuum. The environments confirm our being and give us an understanding of our existence.” He stresses the great importance the space serves as a factor in communication of the message and community. With body, soul and spirit, we are with other people gathered in a space where we celebrate worship. In the service we are present in a wholeness. The language of symbols in the liturgy and in the space and the communication that takes place separates the worship event from other types of meetings. The liturgy and the space support our meeting with God and with one another. Arne E. Saether is an architect and advisor to the Norwegian Church Ministry and all the bishopes in Norway. He lives in Asker, Norway. He has visited more than 1000 churches in various parts of the world. He uses his own photographs and drawings to illustrate his theme that the church needs a context – landscape, space, liturgy. [Språk: Engelska] Inbunden
